Duration: Four Week Class; Sundays, June 1st-22nd
Experience: Beginner-Intermediate
Time: 4PM-6PM
Ages: 18 and up
Capacity: 8 students
Instructor: Mason Deane (They/Them)
During this class, students will learn how to make glazes from a recipe, and go over ways to test and create new glazes.
You will need to provide a recipe for a base glaze that we can approve, please email that to us before your class starts. Glazy.org is a good place to look for recipies, but make sure they are made for Cone 04 or Cone 5-6. Glazes with Gerstley Borate, Custer Feldspar, and Tin are not reccomended due to availabilty and price of materials. It is reccomended to make test tiles and catch trays with plenty of room for glaze accidents while you are testing your new glazes! N95 masks will be provided but we reccomend purchasing a respirator with 3M P100 filters.
We will provide a $30 materials budget and five reclaim clay test tiles. You are free to go over budget and purchase more materials out of pocket, we will email you a price sheet when you sign up for the class!
We classify this as a "Level 2 Class", meaning that everyone enrolled should either have completed our Beginner Wheel Class, Beginner Hand-Building Class, or something similar at another studio/school.
