Local Masters Workshops
Every January, the clay doldrums hit us hard.
So we decided to hit back, just as hard. We gather together the finest clay minds in a 200 mile radius.
Here's the 2011 Schedule:
January 15th, 1pm
Marcia Cochran: Wheel throwing, altering, making lids, and inspiring you! Marcia works primarily with cone 6 porcelain, and has some beautiful matte glazes that have held up to my constant use for more than 5 years now (till a mishap with my cat this summer). Limit 30 people, and we are nearly full! $25
January 22, 1pm
Laura Davis (me), Mixing glazes for beginners, Sorry, class is full as of now. $15
February 12, 1pm
Laura Davis (me) again, glaze application this time. Spraying, dipping, brushing, wax resisting. I'll show you a couple things I've learned and try out a couple new ones. Limit 10 people again. $15
February 19, 1pm
Fred Cook, this is a fund raiser for a new boiler for his church. I love his forms and finishes, so I can't wait. Limit 30 people, 100% of proceeds will benefit the First Lutheran Church down on Race Street, where they do a lot of good for some really under-served people. Let`s see if we can fill the house for a great cause. $25
February 26, 1pm
Anthony Wolking, slide show and throwing demo. Anthony will give a short slide show on the trip to China. Faceting, throwing, doing neato stuff. He`s gonna show us what those guys in Philly get to learn about next year! Should be super cool. $25
