Alysha MacPherson
Alysha MacPherson was our first Artist in Residence. She spent a year from September 2009 to September 2010 learning the intricacies of electric glazes, after having grown up with wood firing and gas firing.
Alysha started throwing down in North Carolina under JoeFrank McGee, from Tree House Pottery. She makes lovely forms and helped us to fine tune the best way to help people learn while doing. Every time she sits down to throw, she thinks of a new and interesting form, and she has helped everyone in the building with enthusiasm and inspiration.
She will update us soon as to what she is doing in Rochester, NY! We wish her the very best of luck!
These peices are from the final group of work that she created with us. Cone 5 with a 15 minute hold.

These were from a wood firing. We couldn't keep her from the wood for long, and you can see why!

Here's what she started out doing. Great little bowls, I eat from one of these at least once a week!
